VATWise Privacy Policy

VATWise ("we", "our") is a Shopify app that helps UK and EU merchants generate VAT-compliant invoices. This policy explains what data we collect and how we use it.

Data we collect

• Shop domain and Shopify session tokens (for authentication)
• Order details when generating invoices (order ID, amounts, tax)
• Customer name and email shown on invoices
• Company settings you enter (VAT number, address, branding)
• Generated invoice records and PDF files

How we use data

• To generate, store, and deliver VAT invoices
• To provide app functionality and customer support
• To manage billing and subscription limits

Data storage

Data is stored in MongoDB and on secure application servers. Invoice PDFs are stored on our servers and accessible only to your shop administrators.

Data retention

Invoice data is retained while your app is installed. When you uninstall VATWise, Shopify session data is deleted. You may contact us to request deletion of stored invoice data.

Third parties

We use Shopify's APIs to read order and customer data. We do not sell your data to third parties.
